Itinerary
Upon arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan’s picturesque capital nestled against the Margalla Hills, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, allowing time to relax or explore the serene boulevards and local markets of the city.
After breakfast, begin your journey southward with a scenic drive to Lahore. Along the way, enjoy glimpses of Punjab’s lush countryside. Arriving in Lahore, you’ll check in to your hotel and have the evening free to soak in the city’s energetic atmosphere.
Spend a full day discovering the cultural riches of Lahore. Visit the magnificent Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque, marvel at the Mughal-era Shalimar Gardens, and wander the vibrant streets of the Walled City. Experience the flavors of traditional cuisine and perhaps end the day with the flag-lowering ceremony at Wagah Border.
Depart Lahore for Multan, stopping en route at the archaeological site of Harappa, once a thriving center of the Indus Valley Civilization. Explore the excavated remains and museum before continuing on to Multan, the City of Saints, where you’ll rest for the night.
Drive to Bahawalpur via Uch Sharif, a town famous for its Sufi shrines and unique architectural heritage. Discover the intricately decorated tombs and gain insight into the early spread of Islam in South Asia. Arrive in Bahawalpur and prepare for the desert leg of the journey.
Venture into the Cholistan Desert to reach the impressive Derawar Fort, a 9th-century citadel with massive 30-meter-high bastions. Set up camp near the fort and explore the surrounding desert landscape.
Begin your camel safari with a ride from Derawar Fort to Toba. Experience the tranquil rhythm of desert travel and observe the traditional life of nomadic communities.
Continue the camel trek from Toba to Hallo Rani, a remote desert settlement. Along the way, engage with local camel herders and enjoy the stark beauty of the dunes.
Ride onward to Chanan Pir, a spiritual site steeped in local legend and devotion. The area becomes especially lively during annual festivals, but even in quiet times, the site exudes deep spiritual energy.
Conclude your desert journey and return to Multan by vehicle. En route, visit Lal Sohanra National Park, one of the few areas where desert, forest, and wetland ecosystems coexist. In Multan, enjoy a relaxing evening.
