Itinerary
Arrive in Islamabad, meet and assist, and transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Depart from Islamabad early morning. Drive through the scenic Malakand Pass to Swat. En route, explore archaeological remains from the Gandhara civilization. Overnight in Mingora or Saidu Sharif.
Travel through the majestic Lowari Tunnel (10.4 km) connecting Dir to Chitral. The journey unveils dramatic mountain landscapes. Arrive in Chitral by evening. Overnight in Chitral.
Visit the historic Chitral Fort, Shahi Mosque, and Chitral Museum. Optional visit to Garam Chashma (hot springs) or a local handicrafts market. View of Tirich Mir from Chitral town. Overnight stay in Chitral.
Drive into the Kalash Valley. The rugged terrain is challenging but awe-inspiring. Arrive in Bumburet, the largest of the Kalash valleys. Interact with locals and explore the village. Overnight in a traditional guesthouse.
Visit the Rumbur Valley, known for its more traditional lifestyle. Explore Kalash temples, shrines, and possibly witness cultural ceremonies. Optional short hike to a Kalash cemetery. Overnight in Bumburet.
Begin the return journey. Overnight in Dir or Swat depending on route preference and road conditions.
Drive back to Islamabad, concluding your cultural and natural odyssey. Evening transfer to the Islamabad international airport for homebound flight.
