Arrival in Islamabad

Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide or representative and transferred to your hotel. Depending on the arrival time, you may have a short orientation session or visit a local bazaar for a brief introduction to Pakistan’s capital. Overnight stay at a hotel in Islamabad.

Chilas to Minapin Valley (Nagar)

After breakfast, you continue your drive along the Karakoram Highway toward Minapin Village in the picturesque Nagar Valley. En route, you will pause at key sites such as the ancient Thalpan petroglyphs and the Rakaposhi viewpoint, offering a glimpse of the towering 7,788-meter peak. Crossing a suspension bridge over the Hunza River, you’ll enter the peaceful Minapin Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll check into a local guesthouse and have time to explore the charming village. Overnight stay in Minapin.

Drive to Chilas via Karakoram Highway or Babusar Pass

Today begins your journey northward. In the summer months, the drive takes you through the scenic Naran Valley and over the majestic Babusar Pass (4,173 meters), while in other seasons, the route follows the legendary Karakoram Highway through Besham and Dassu. The journey is long but rewarding, with dramatic views of valleys, rivers, and distant snow-covered peaks. You will reach the town of Chilas by evening, situated along the banks of the mighty Indus River. Overnight stay at a hotel in Chilas.

Trek to Hapakun Pastureland

Today marks the start of your trekking adventure. Accompanied by guides and porters, you’ll begin a gentle ascent through pine forests and alpine meadows. The trek takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, leading you to the Hapakun Campsite at around 2,800 meters. From here, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of Rakaposhi and glimpses of the Minapin Glacier. The night will be spent in tents under a canopy of stars.

Trek to Tagaphari Campsite

The trail continues upward toward Tagaphari, a beautiful high-altitude meadow located at approximately 3,300 meters. The 3 to 4-hour trek passes yak pastures, bubbling streams, and wildflowers. As you approach the campsite, panoramic views of Diran Peak and Rakaposhi dominate the skyline. You’ll set up camp at the edge of the Minapin Glacier and enjoy the serenity of the mountain wilderness. Overnight in tents at Tagaphari.

Day Hike to Diran Peak Base Camp

After an early breakfast, you’ll undertake a challenging but rewarding day hike to the base camp of Diran Peak, situated at around 3,700 meters. The trail follows rocky moraines and glacial ridges, with spectacular views unfolding at every turn. At base camp, you’ll be rewarded with close-up vistas of Diran’s imposing ice-covered slopes. After spending time at the base, you’ll return to the Tagaphari campsite for the night.

Trek down to Minapin and Drive to Hunza

In the morning, you’ll retrace your steps down to Minapin Village, arriving by midday. After a brief rest, a short scenic drive takes you to the fabled Hunza Valley. You’ll arrive in Karimabad, the cultural heart of Hunza, nestled beneath towering peaks like Ultar, Ladyfinger, and Golden Peak. After checking in at your hotel, the evening is free to enjoy a leisurely walk through the village. Overnight stay in Karimabad.

Full Day Sightseeing of Hunza Valley

Today is devoted to exploring the beauty and heritage of the Hunza Valley. Highlights include visits to the iconic Baltit Fort, a 700-year-old architectural marvel, and the beautifully restored Altit Fort with its adjoining royal gardens. In the afternoon, you may ascend to Duikar (Eagle’s Nest) for panoramic views of the valley and a breathtaking sunset. Depending on your interest and time, optional excursions may include a trip to Hopper Glacier or Passu Cones. Overnight stay in Karimabad.

Drive to Gilgit via Naltar Valley

After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey toward Gilgit, the capital of Gilgit-Baltistan. En route, a detour takes you into the scenic Naltar Valley, known for its lush pine forests, colorful lakes, and winter ski slopes. After a short jeep ride and optional walk to the Naltar Lakes, you’ll continue to Gilgit. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening. Overnight stay in Gilgit.

Drive to Naran or Besham for Overnight

Today marks the beginning of your return journey south. In summer, the preferred route is via Babusar Pass and down through the lush Kaghan and Naran valleys. During other seasons, you will retrace the Karakoram Highway via Besham. Though the day involves a long drive, the constantly changing landscape from alpine forests to rocky gorges makes it scenic and memorable. Overnight stay in either Naran or Besham, depending on the season.

Drive to Islamabad

After breakfast, continue your drive to Islamabad. Along the way, you’ll pass through verdant valleys, gorges, and riverside settlements. Arrive in the capital by late afternoon. Check in at the hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Full Day Sightseeing in Islamabad

Today is reserved for exploring Pakistan’s capital city. You’ll visit major landmarks such as the majestic Faisal Mosque, the iconic Pakistan Monument, and the culturally rich Lok Virsa Museum. A trip to Daman-e-Koh will offer panoramic views of the city, while a stroll through Saidpur Village provides a taste of local heritage. In the evening, there’s time for shopping or a visit to Centaurus Mall. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Departure from Islamabad

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Islamabad International Airport. With warm memories of the mountains, cultures, and landscapes of Northern Pakistan, you’ll board your flight home.
